Overview
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to communicate information to complete work activities within the mining, drilling and civil infrastructure industry. It includes planning and preparing for and conducting communication via a number of different methods to ensure work activities are understood.
This unit applies to individuals who are working in an operational, supervisory or team leader capacity.
Licensing, legislative and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors. Users must check requirements with relevant body before applying the unit.
Course Requirements
Pre-requisites:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, understand and write in basic English
- Must have or obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
What to bring:
- 100 points of Identification – Originals, not copies.
- Enclosed footwear.
- Safety Gloves
- A hat, water bottle and sunscreen.
- Hi-vis shirts are recommended but not mandatory – we have hi-vis vests you can use on site.

- Module 1: Plan and prepare to communicate information
- Module 2: Communicate information to achieve work activity outcomes
- Module 3: Develop and perform work activity presentation
- Module 4: Participate in resolving conflicts
What You’ll Achieve
Upon completing this course, you will:
- You will receive a RIICOM301E – Communicate Information once you have been deemed competent, issued by Halo Nation Training (RTO No. 32485).
